God teaches us that education/knowledge is key to serving him properly
Jesus Christ taught us that we may search the scriptures for in them we think we will find eternal life. But the scriptures testify of him.
God told Israel:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,
Everyone has to learn the true words of God. Not our opinions or our own thoughts because they can never be the mind of God. We have to let his words live in us by living the way the word instructs each of us to live.
If you are in me at all times, and my words are in you, then anything for which you make a request will be done for you.
We get the mind of Christ from studying the word.
1 Tim 2:15
Study to show thyself approved of God, rightly dividing the word of truth.
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (your prayers)
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and commit to His will for our lives.
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread
